Summary of Position:

United Way of Amarillo & Canyon (UWAC) seeks an individual to engage donors with United Way through worksite fundraising activities, special initiatives and constituent management. The Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for new and expanding existing business development through the identification, cultivation, retention, and development of corporate donors and prospects. The successful candidate is expected to establish and strengthen relationships with companies and build long-term donor loyalty, raise and leverage resources, and ensure a unique positive brand experience. The following duties are representative of the responsibilities of this position. These assignments may change as the needs and priorities of the organization evolve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Promote United Way’s vision and mission in the community * Manage a portfolio of accounts to increase revenue and donors * Develop creative strategies for identifying and engaging diverse constituencies critical to the organization’s fundraising goals through year-round cultivation * Develop key partnerships throughout Amarillo and Canyon * Identify prospects. Determine which prospects are appropriate for further cultivation. * Develop/identify proposals. Align the donor’s interest(s) with community engagement strategies and position the ask * Cultivate Corporate Foundations. Identify corporate foundations that align with United Way programs, write grants, stewardship foundations, and maintain relationships * Solicit businesses. Identify and lead prospect specific solicitation teams involving campaign leadership, board members, United Way executive staff and other volunteers by providing leadership and direction * Stewardship. Once funding is secured, serve as the primary point of contact and serve as relationship manager for assigned accounts. Provide ongoing donor recognition * Keep accurate records of all interactions by managing and updating a database of current and potential donors to maximize prospecting efforts * Participate in activities that contribute, directly or indirectly, to the acquisition or retention of corporate donors * Train, recruit, manage and support employee campaign coordinators * Help plan, attend, speak at and/or lead frequent outside meetings in companies throughout the community, sharing information about United Way to solicit employees’ support and involvement * Maintain a solutions-focused approach to challenges, coupled with a commitment to the overall success of the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon * Participate in other Resource Development programs as assigned and assist other staff as needed, including cross-departmental collaborations * Participate in continuing education opportunities * Other duties as assigned Core Competencies:

Education Requirements: Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree preferred * Minimum of 3 years fundraising or sales experience * Experience in fundraising/development, relationship management, volunteer management * Previous experience in resource development within United Way system preferred
